BBC MARYLAND Calls at Iquique with Heavy Transformer Cargo
The BBC MARYLAND called at the Port of Iquique to discharge specialised transformer cargo transported from Shanghai, in an operation requiring precise coordination and careful handling due to the dimensions and weight of the units.
The vessel berthed at ITI Site 3, where discharge operations included two transformer sets totalling 1.170 cubic metres, with main units weighing 168 metric tons each.
Ian Taylor participated in this operation as vessel agent, coordinating the port call and supporting the execution of a highly specialised heavy cargo operation at the Port of Iquique.
