Ian Taylor, through Taylor Elqui, recently participated in a marine spill response exercise at the Port of Coquimbo, alongside terminal operators, maritime authorities and specialised emergency response teams.

The exercise simulated a vessel collision resulting in a hydrocarbon spill scenario, providing an opportunity to test response protocols, coordination procedures and containment measures under realistic conditions.

As part of the operation, the Ian Taylor team deployed containment booms to support the control and recovery of the simulated spill, working closely with the maritime authority and other stakeholders involved.

Exercises such as these play a vital role in strengthening preparedness, enhancing operational safety and reinforcing our commitment to environmental protection.

At Ian Taylor, we believe that responsible maritime operations require continuous training, collaboration and readiness to respond effectively to any situation, helping safeguard both maritime activity and the marine environment.
