The operation of the MV Asian Captain at the Port of Callao has now been successfully completed, marking the largest Ro-Ro discharge ever performed during a single vessel call at the Peruvian terminal, with a total of 5.733 rolling cargo units handled.

The multi-day operation involved the discharge of vehicles, heavy machinery and specialised rolling cargo arriving from Asia, requiring seamless coordination between terminal operators, vessel representatives, logistics stakeholders and operational teams on the ground.

As maritime agency and pilotage provider, Ian Taylor coordinated a highly demanding port call where operational precision, pilotage coordination, timing, safety and execution capability were critical to maintaining the continuity and efficiency of the operation from arrival through completion.

Further highlighting the level of expertise behind this milestone operation, the vessel was attended by Joan Alcántara, recognised as Peru’s Best Ship Agent in 2023 -an acknowledgement that reflects the professionalism, expertise and leadership required for operations of this scale and complexity.

Operations of this magnitude are only possible through experienced teams, detailed planning and strong coordination across every stage of the logistics chain. Successfully executing a record-setting operation such as this further reinforces Ian Taylor’s expertise in handling high-volume and high-complexity Ro-Ro vessel calls in the region.

We thank all teams and stakeholders involved for their commitment, professionalism and flawless execution throughout this milestone operation.
